Education is probably one of the most critical things that an individual can have. It’s extremely vital for further achievements in any career. Locating a full-time job can be challenging without a respectable academic background, and career growth in addition to development can also pose a challenge.

I have first-hand experience in this since I was incapable of completing my college education before. I was taking up a degree in Management but had to stop my sophomore year. Even though I was fortunate enough to obtain a job in a good company, I was only eligible for a part-time status.

Seemingly, I had to possess a higher educational degree to be promoted full-time. I was confronted with the issue that for me to return to college, I would not have sufficient time to retain my job. With no job, I would have no money to shell out for my education.

Then at some point, one of the supervisors at the office said that I could pursue my goal of getting my bachelor’s degree. He advised me to try the online degree classes, which offer bachelor’s degrees in every field of study. According to him, the programs presented in these online degrees have reached the same level with the best colleges. I then became aware that this would certainly be the greatest alternative for me to accomplish my bachelor education.

My supervisor assured me I don’t need to worry about that, since with the online courses I can actually attend classes after work and the schedule can be adjusted to the students’ availability.

Online degrees offered me the chance to conclude my bachelor’s degree without the need spend a lot of time in school. While using online courses, I’m able to study at home with the internet, at my own time and comfort.

In a short period of time as was able to finish my Management degree with flying colors and I was promoted in the office to a higher position; surely having a degree made a big difference in my life. Now, I’m on my way to getting my Master’s degree through online education!

Online degrees offer quality and a very effective alternative approach to education. There are a lot of fields to choose from: Business, Legal, Healthcare, Art and Design and many others. Payment Options For College Through An Online School

author Posted by: Gavin Shields on date Feb 7th, 2010 | filed Filed under: Distance Learning

Studies show that college graduates earn more and have more career opportunities than those who do not have a college diploma. Paying for a college education, whether you are attending a traditional or online school may be a challenge, but not impossible. Fortunately, there are several options available that can help you meet tuition fee expenses.

Deferred payment plans. Many students are adults who have household bills, medical bills and child-related expenses to contend with. Many online schools accept payment in monthly, quarterly or semi-annual installments. On the other hand, some schools give their students an incentive to make a one-time/full tuition payment by offering discounts up to 50 percent.

Others offer a payment plan that allows you to pay for one course at a time, rather than an entire semester or year at once. Here, you are required to pay the tuition and applicable fees before each course’s start date. To further reduce costs, you could try to get credit for college-level courses you may have taken in another institution, while attending an online high school, or for relevant work experience.

Employers, including the military and government agencies, can also be a source of financial aid. Some companies have benefits that allow subsidizing tuition for employees. Online schools require employers to shoulder at least 50 percent of the cost; otherwise, this option is not applicable.

The student and the employer or military/government agency must agree to certain terms and conditions such as submitting required documentation and payment on time. This includes any amount not covered by the third party, which the student must pay for. Also, this option is valid only while the student is an employee of the third party.

Your employer may prefer not to be billed directly and will instead reimburse you the tuition costs. The online school usually offers a deferment period so that you will have time to collect reimbursement from your employer. Payment should be made before the deferment period lapses, otherwise a late fee will be charged.

Scholarships and loans. Students can use these traditional sources to help them finance their online college education. These include private loans and Federal Financial Aid grants or loan programs. Military personnel and their spouses are also eligible for tuition fee discounts in many online schools.

Students should consult an enrollment adviser to know what options are available and which one is the best for their situation. The above are just some of the most common ways for reducing college costs. Any of these can help students pursue their dream of getting a college diploma in an online school.

Gavin realizes the many benefits of online high school and gives knowledge so that others can learn about them. Education is an important, fundamental facet of kid’s lives and online school is tailored in order to help students get their diploma.

Deciding On An Online School

author Posted by: Jim Sorenson on date Jan 19th, 2010 | filed Filed under: Distance Learning

The criteria for choosing an online school are practically the same as other schools. Parents and students should be aware, though, that geography can be a factor in choosing a virtual high school. There are four types – private, public, chartered and university-sponsored – and some are available only for residents of certain areas. That aside, the following checklist is applicable for any distance learning institution:

Available programs or specialization: Online schools have many program offerings, but it may not have the program that you want. Also, you might be more comfortable enrolling in a school that specializes in the field that you want to study. If the program that you want is available, check if graduates receive a diploma or just a certificate.

Is the school properly accredited? This ensures that you will not be wasting money, time and resources on a diploma that you can’t use later to pursue a higher education or advance your career. The accreditation should be by recognized by creditors and include oversight as well as a license to operate.

Having found an online school with the right programs and proper accreditation, it is time to look at the price. Aside from tuition, are there hidden costs; technology fees, graduation fees, etc? It is also a good idea to ask if there are discounts, scholarships or financial assistance options available.

Studying the curriculum and learning about the school’s credit transfer policies can reduce costs and the time it takes to earn a diploma. Some schools allow students to skip courses already taken in another institution. Others offer credit for real-life work experience.

How are classes conducted? Knowing the learning format (e.g. students doing course work on their own versus online “classroom” sessions), technical and academic support offered, qualifications of the online teaching staff and the teacher-to-student ratio can help you decide if the online school under consideration fits your learning style and schedule. If possible, try to attend a demo class.

Does the school have a good track record? Generally, the longer the school has been around, the better. Other things that are good to know: number of students currently enrolled, number of graduates, number of graduates who went on to college (for virtual high schools) and drop-out rate.

What do other people say about the school? Aside from testimonials from the online school website, get feedback from people you know or past/current staff and students, as well as online discussion boards and blogs. Making the time and effort to interview several prospective schools instead of settling for the first school that meets the criteria will lead to a better, more informed decision.

Jim has explored the choices that students have to take part in virtual high school and helps parents to find information. It is important that kids receive a proper education whether in public schools or participating in online school.
